Vampire facial is the common name for PRP with microneedling. At Uplifting Medi Spa, our version is the Twilight Facial. We offer it at our New Braunfels and Spring Branch clinics, and Spring Branch is often the closer drive for Bulverde clients.
A consult comes first so we can match the plan to your skin. Results vary. Pricing is reviewed at your consult or when you book, because it depends on your plan.
What a vampire facial is
Vampire facial is the nickname people use for microneedling paired with platelet-rich plasma, or PRP. Your provider draws a small amount of your blood, spins it in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets, then applies that PRP while microneedling creates tiny channels in the skin. The idea is to use your own growth factors while the skin is primed to absorb them.
Celebrity photos and viral videos under that label show the same core idea: PRP plus microneedling. The device, numbing, and aftercare still matter, so a consult comes first.
What the Twilight Facial is
Our Twilight Facial is PRP combined with microneedling. The goal is to support collagen, texture, and overall skin health using your own platelets. People often ask about it for fine lines, uneven tone, acne scars, and skin that looks dull or rough.
Plain microneedling and radiofrequency treatments work differently; see microneedling vs Morpheus8 for that comparison. The Twilight Facial is the regenerative option: microneedling plus PRP rather than energy-based tightening alone.
What happens at a Twilight Facial visit
A typical session takes about 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the area and your plan, and runs in four steps.
Blood draw and PRP prep
We start with a small blood draw from your arm. The sample goes into a centrifuge so the platelet-rich plasma separates from the rest of the blood. That PRP is what we use later in the visit.
Numbing
A topical anesthetic goes on your face so the microneedling is more comfortable. We wait for it to take effect before we begin.
Microneedling
Your provider uses a microneedling device to create controlled micro-channels in the skin. That step stimulates collagen and opens the way for the PRP to reach where it needs to go.
PRP application
The prepared PRP is applied to the treated area so it can move into those channels. Growth factors in the plasma support healing and the skin's repair response after treatment.
Who it may suit
You may be a good fit if you want help with texture, fine lines, acne scars, or uneven tone, and you prefer a treatment that uses your own blood rather than a filler or energy device alone. It can work across a wide range of skin types. Your provider still reviews your health history, medications, and goals before recommending it.
Who should wait or choose something else
We may ask you to wait, or pick a different option, if you are pregnant, have an active infection or cold sore in the area, have a bleeding or clotting disorder, take certain blood-thinning medications, or have a history that makes blood draws or microneedling a poor match. Share every medication and supplement you take so we can plan safely. If your main concern is sun spots or redness, an IPL photofacial may be a better first talk. If you mostly want a deep clean and hydration with little downtime, compare a HydraFacial and a regular facial first.
Comfort and downtime
Most clients describe mild sensation during microneedling once the numbing cream is working. Redness and mild swelling right after are common and usually settle within a few days. Many people return to normal daily activities within about 24 hours. Your provider will give you specific aftercare, including how to cleanse, what to skip for a few days, and when to restart actives like retinoids.
How many treatments and when results show
For most people we recommend a series of three to six treatments, spaced about four weeks apart. You may notice texture and glow changes within a few weeks after a session. Fuller results usually build after the series, because collagen remodeling takes time. Your provider will set expectations at the consult based on what you want to improve and how your skin responds.
What it costs
Pricing depends on your plan and how many visits you need. Ask when you book, or we will review it at your consult before you decide.
Common questions about vampire facial and Twilight Facial
Is a vampire facial the same as the Twilight Facial?
Vampire facial is the common name for PRP with microneedling. Twilight Facial is our clinic name for that combination. Same idea, our protocol and branding.
Does the Twilight Facial hurt?
We apply topical numbing before microneedling. Most clients report mild sensation rather than sharp pain. Tell your provider how it feels as you go.
How long does a session take?
Plan on about 60 to 90 minutes, including the blood draw, centrifuge time, numbing, microneedling, and PRP application.
What is the downtime?
Expect some redness and mild swelling for a few days. Many clients are back to daily activities within 24 hours. Follow the aftercare sheet we give you.
How many treatments will I need?
Often three to six, about four weeks apart. Your provider personalizes the number after seeing your skin and goals.
When will I see results?
Some improvement in texture and appearance can show within a few weeks. Optimal results usually follow the full series as collagen builds.
Is it safe for all skin types?
It is generally used across skin types, but candidacy still depends on your health history and the area we treat. We confirm fit at the consult.
Can it be combined with other treatments?
Sometimes yes. Your provider builds a plan that may include other options when they help your goals. Timing matters, so we do not stack everything in one visit without a reason.
Book a Twilight Facial consult
For clients in New Braunfels, Spring Branch, and nearby Bulverde, the first step is a consult. We will explain PRP and microneedling in plain language, confirm whether the Twilight Facial fits, and map a series if it does. You can book online or read more on our Twilight Facial page.
Individual results vary. Your provider will review your skin and health history before any treatment.
