People ask us whether filler will look natural or too done. At Uplifting Medi Spa, we plan dermal fillers around your anatomy, not a trend template. We offer treatment in New Braunfels and Spring Branch. Fit comes from a consult where we look at structure, movement, and the areas that bother you most.

Hyaluronic-acid fillers can restore volume, soften folds, and support lip shape when product, placement, and amount match your face. This post is educational. Results vary. A consult is required before treatment.

What dermal fillers are

Most of the fillers we discuss are hyaluronic acid gels. They sit under the skin to replace support that softens with time, smooth certain folds, or refine shape. Different products behave differently in how soft they feel, how they move with expression, and how long they tend to last in a given area.

Filler is not the same as neuromodulators (tox). Tox relaxes the muscles that crease the skin. Filler adds or restores volume. Many people use both in a staged plan. We decide that with you, not from a package menu.

Lips, cheeks, and folds

Common areas include lips, cheeks and midface, smile lines, and other spots where volume loss shows. Lip filler can support definition, subtle fullness, or symmetry. Cheeks and midface work often restores support so the lower face looks less tired. Fold work softens lines around the mouth while keeping balance with the rest of your features.

The goal is not a different face. It is a measured change that still looks like you from every angle. Restraint and placement matter as much as the syringe brand.

Who may be a good candidate?

You may be a reasonable candidate to discuss filler if you want to restore volume that has softened, refine lip shape, or soften folds, and you are open to a plan built around proportion. First-time patients are welcome. So are people who had filler elsewhere and want a more careful approach going forward.

If under-chin fullness is the main concern, Kybella treats fat under the chin, which is a different tool. If your goals need skin quality work more than volume, we may talk about other options in consult. Our nurse practitioners and clinical team evaluate fit under Dr. Jennifer Upton's clinic approach. If filler is not the right tool, we will say so.

What a visit feels like

We start by mapping what you want to soften, restore, or refine. Then we choose product and placement for each area, with attention to depth, movement, and how the result will settle. Treatment uses small amounts with an eye on comfort, symmetry, and natural expression. Numbing options depend on the plan and the product.

Appointments are precise, but the plan should be easy to understand before we start. You should know the areas, the approximate amount, and what the first few days may look like.

Settling, longevity, and aftercare

What to expect after

Some swelling, tenderness, or bruising is common and usually improves with time. Lips often swell more than cheeks for a few days. We review aftercare and when to check in as the filler settles. Avoid guessing from day-one photos. Settling takes patience.

How long results last

Longevity depends on the filler, the treatment area, your metabolism, and your goals. Some areas hold longer than others. Lip filler often needs earlier touch-ups than midface support. Your provider will talk through realistic timing in consult, not a single number that fits everyone.

Combining with tox

Botox and filler treat different concerns, so we may recommend one, the other, or a staged plan. Order and timing matter. We set that based on your face and calendar, not a one-day rush.

Who should wait?

We may recommend waiting, or another path, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you have an active skin infection near the treatment area, if you have certain medical histories that raise risk, or if your goals need a different tool first. Share allergies, prior filler, and full health history so we can keep the plan safe.

Filler should be measured. More product is not always better. A good plan considers movement, proportion, and how you want to look six months from now, not only tomorrow.

FAQ

Will dermal fillers look obvious?

They should not have to. We plan around your features so the result looks balanced and still like you. Overfilled or trend looks are not the goal here.

How long do fillers last?

It varies by product, area, and how your body responds. Expect a range discussed in consult, then a maintenance plan if you want to hold the look.

Is swelling normal after filler?

Yes. Some swelling, tenderness, or bruising can happen. We explain what is expected versus what needs a call.

Can fillers be combined with Botox?

Often, yes. We may stage them. Your provider will say what makes sense for your goals.

Do I need a consultation first?

Yes, especially if you are new to filler or unsure which areas would help most. Consult is where we decide fit, product, and amount before any syringe opens.

Are dermal fillers available in New Braunfels and Spring Branch?

Yes. We offer dermal fillers and lip filler at our New Braunfels and Spring Branch clinics. Book a consult and we will walk through goals, anatomy, and a measured plan.

Book a filler consult

If you want a clearer plan for volume, folds, or lip shape, start with a consultation. Read more on our dermal fillers treatment page, then book at New Braunfels or Spring Branch. In consult we cover candidacy, product choice, what settling feels like, and whether filler is the right next step.

This article is for education only. Individual results vary. Dermal filler treatment requires medical screening and is not appropriate for everyone.
